Emotion (surprised)

In He Puna Kawenga we  learnt about emotions. We had to make a poem called emotions.  We all made a poem called proud, once we did that we all got to make our own. Mine was called Surprised, here is my poem of Surprised.

Growth mindset poster

In He Puna Kawenga we made a growth mindset poster.A growth mindset 
is when you will always give it a go and not give up, its like the opposite of fixed mindset. A Fixed mindset is when you will not try and you will give up.

Ruruku meaning slideshow

We had to create slideshow to show our understanding of what the ruruku means. Here is my slideshow.

active learning sleds for our tiny penguins (and Penny)

In week 10 we are back with active learning on Tuesday YAY!!  So I was making sleds with Addison for Penny the Penguin and here are the supplies:

1 piece of cardboard5 straws 5 pipe cleaners90 cm of tape6 washers for weights (little tiny metal circles)scissorsHere are the instructions:
Make the cardboard into a cylinder but leave a gap for your tiny penguin so it has somewhere to sit.

The six weights go on the sides and it has to be three on each side.


Cut 2 straws where the lines are you know?
Just use the one with the lines and cut red pipe cleaners, it has to be 5cm. When you do that get some sellotape, get the 2 straws tape it to the side  (1 on each side) then put the red pipe cleaners in the straws for the jets cool eh? HARD BIT!!!! Wrap 2 pipe cleaners (any color

a place remembered

In He Puna Kawenga we have been writing called a place remembered. It was a bit tricky because we wasn't aloud to add personal pronounce. I managed though.

In He Puna Kawenga we have been learning to write descriptions to write descriptions you have to be good at noticing, observing and wondering. We went around the school doing this then wrote poems inspired by Frank Kendons the looker-on.

active learning. baking pikelets!!!!!

In He Puna Kawenga we have been in 4 groups for active learning. I was in group for making pikelets. Here is the ingredients:
1 egg
1/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of milk
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of Edmonds Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
25g ( 1 oz.) Butter

Here is the recipe 

Beat the egg and sugar until thick and then add with the milk to the sifted flour,salt and baking powder. Lastly add melted butter. Mix until smooth and cook in spoonfuls on a hot greased pan. Flip them over when its bubbling. then enjoy your pikelets!
